One of the most renowned performances of the German State Theatre Timișoara, Romanian Diary. Timișoara, written and directed by UNITER award winner Carmen Lidia Vidu, will go on tour in Germany. The production will have two performances at the State Theatre in Bruchsal on April 5 and 6, 2025.
The German State Theatre Timișoara (GSTT) has been invited to participate in the 75th-anniversary celebrations of the State Theatre in Bruchsal, in recognition of the long-standing friendship and collaboration between the two institutions, which dates back two decades. The organizers have already announced that tickets are completely sold out.
Before this tour, the performance will also take place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 7:30 PM, on the stage of the German State Theatre. The audience in Timișoara is invited to listen to the testimonies of the six actresses in the cast, who will share their life experiences, whether moments of happiness or sorrow, success or failure, trauma and depression, alienation, and rediscovery.
The cast includes actresses: Ida Jarcsek-Gaza, Ioana Iacob, Tatiana Sessler-Toami, Daniela Török, Olga Török, and Silvia Török.
Romanian Diary.Timișoara is a multidisciplinary project that combines film, photography, and theater. Through a series of uncensored and direct confessions, it aims to be a sincere reflection of human relationships, deeply influenced by the urban environment. It also serves as a call for social and community engagement. The structure of the performance is shaped by the actresses' biographies, as they explore and map the ways in which parents, friends, strangers, and the city itself—through its neighborhoods, residents, and artists—shape and transform us, from the nostalgia of first memories to present realities.
The performance in Timișoara will be translated into Romanian and English.
The tour in Germany is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the Ministry of Science, Research, and Arts of Baden-Württemberg, and the Municipality of Timișoara.
